Northwest Arkansas' Original Chat Channel
Before text messages via cellphone, before Facebook chat, before Google chat, before Yahoo instant messenger, and before ICQ there was IRC. It stands for Internet Relay Chat. This feature has been around just about as long as the internet itself. The IRC protocol allows groups to exchange information in a channel, and also for peer to peer communications.
We have been operating the #Ozarks IRC channel for many years.
For those of you who have your own IRC client software, the server information is:
Server: barefoot.hopto.org
Port: 6667 (standard irc port)
Channel: #Ozarks
I use the nickname barefoot and am usually online in the afternoons and early evenings. Once you get to our channel, if you see me online, I would be happy to try and answer any questions you might have about our area.
To use the Kiwi web based chat client just click on the button below. The chat client will open in a new window. Put in a nickname and hit start.
