A Holiday Walk In The Park

Bluff Near Sam's Throne

Turning Down Erbie Access Road

It was a few days before Christmas and I had not been able to get out very much since the last update. The weatherman said it would be really nice weather for the holidays so I decided to take a quick walk, making my way into the park to stretch my legs. I turned down the Erbie Access Road and made my way towards the river. On the way I pulled over at a spot I knew and explored the area. There was a very old, hand dug well and also a spring  house that was in a state of disrepair, but functional.

After exploring that area I bushwhacked my way to a spot above the river, then made my way down to it. It was not the best spot for walking. I sort of got tangled up and also ran out of room for walking along the bank and had to climb back up. It turned out to be a beautiful day. The promise of sunshine and warmer weather finally made its appearance in the late afternoon.

It was a fun couple of hours just walking, with no real plan. The park and other public lands offer endless opportunities for hiking and exploring Northwest Arkansas. I am just fortunate that I can take advantage of the area. I invite you to come for a visit and see the charm of the Ozarks for yourself.
